Tuks too strong for Madibaz

The FNB NMMU-Madibaz recorded their second defeat in this year's FNB Varsity, when they lost to FNB Tuks at the Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Monday evening.

The team from Port Elizabeth has now lost two in a row since they beat Ikeys, 36 - 8, in their first match.

Madibaz scored the first points of the match through a Simon Bolze penalty to take an early three point lead after seven minutes. That was however their only points of the first half, as Tuks scored three converted tries to lead 21 - 3 at the break.

Bolze added a further two penalties, the first in forty forth minute and the second in the fifty fifth minute to trail 9 - 21.

Tuks scored an unconverted try on the sixtieth minute as time started to run out for the visitors as the deficit grew to seventeen points, 9 - 26.

Madibaz lock, Gerrit Huisamen scored their first try on the sixtieth minute, Bolze added the extras as they trailed 15 - 26 with fifteen minutes to play.

Tuks added the final nail to the coffin as they scored one last converted try to secure a comfortable win at the end.

Final score 33 - 16 to Tuks.

Madibaz will travel to Cape Town next week for another tough encounter where they will face Maties at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch.
